This seller provided an accurate description of the book I received. Also, the book was offered at a fair price, it was packaged well, and it was delivered on time. This was an excellent transaction. I highly recommend this seller!Like others I originally was interested in Tres Heures but also agree that this is a gem of a reproduction. As you flip through the pages, it's easy to believe you are holding an original medieval manuscript. The quality of the plates, as well as the descriptions, was outstanding and the binding had only extremely minor signs of wear after being printed in 1974. Overall this was well worth the price in terms of artistic, religious and historical value.I was familiar with the Tres Riches Heures the Duc de Berry commissioned and with the Grandes Heures but not with this treasure of a book. The original must be amazing. Though I love the Tres Riches Heures with its beautiful calendar, this book of hours has wonderful sections like the life of Saint Catherine, the story of Raymond Diocres and the founding of the Carthusians and others which are simply gorgeous. The book is well, the reproductions are wonderful quality and the commentary is well done. If you love medieval art, buy this! And if you love calligraphy and would like to look at a good model of a textura script, this is also for you.THE BELLES HEURES OF JEAN, DUKE OF BERRY is so beautiful that I can't find words to describe it. The whole manuscript was done in one style.Borders of the miniatures are light as lace and very elegant. The quality of the photos is so good that in some pages you will see gold ... and feel 3D effect. The book was printed in France by Draeger.I have ordered as a "new" edition from the Stone Soup Foundation, Inc. And to my surprise, the edition was absolutely new although almost 40 years have past. Victoria, Finland.I stumbled upon these works of art in a Google search for ancient calendars. Truely beautiful paintings, the blue was so rare as to be reserved for royal patrons. Commisioned by the Duke of Berry, the subject matter is life at that time, hunting, harvesting, and suggests a daily integration of religious focus.Nobody could open this book and not to fall in love right away. It's a gorgeous edition and the price was a bargain.Wrapped well. Very good condition. A lovely book.I am very pleasedA wonderful reproduction.
